Also, stay in the crosswalk.

Getting from the residential area to the practice field requires crossing busy Yorba Linda Boulevard. Coach Karl Dorrell cautioned his team Friday not to jaywalk or otherwise flout traffic laws.

“I just want them to be aware of the street and to respect the speed of cars when they are crossing,” he said.

UCLA is training off campus for the second consecutive season to reduce wear and tear on Spaulding Field and because of campus construction projects, chiefly the Acosta Center, a training facility that will be completed by spring.

The Bruins trained at Cal Lutheran in Thousand Oaks last year and would have liked to return, but Cal Lutheran’s football team is beginning practice a week earlier this year, causing a conflict.

The facilities at Fullerton have not been used since the Rams left for St. Louis after the 1995 season.
