Maxie to Be Co-Host of ESPN2 Morning Show
Former USC hurdler and Fox Sports Net reporter Leslie Maxie has been hired to serve as one of two hosts on a new daily weekday morning show, “Cold Pizza,” on ESPN2.
ESPN is expected to make an announcement regarding Maxie today. A second host, a news anchor and a reporter will be named later.
“Cold Pizza,” which makes its debut Oct. 1, will be sort of a “Today” show for sports fans. But besides sports interviews and topics, there will also be a heavy dose of pop culture, lifestyle features and consumer advice.
The show, which will be on live at 4 a.m. (Pacific time) and repeated at 6 a.m., will originate from a new studio near New York’s Madison Square Gar- den.
Maxie competed for the U.S. in the 400-meter hurdles at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul.
Maxie, who worked on the National Sports Report and “Goin’ Deep” at Fox Sports Net, also has worked for KRON in San Francisco.
