Successful Veterans Grab Spotlight Tonight

Share

The six veterans scheduled to run 870 yards in tonight’s seventh certainly aren’t strangers to the winner’s circle.

Headed by No Pet Peeves, who has 18 lifetime victories, and Pennants Headlight, who has won 11 times, the group of $5,000 claimers have combined for 46 wins.

Owned by Martha Wells and trained by Dan Francisco, No Pet Peeves, a 10-year-old Sir Alibi gelding, has earned almost $200,000 during his 63-race career. Not able to compete against the best anymore, the California-bred will be trying for his third win in his last five starts tonight. Guillermo Gutierrez will ride.
