Fatal Shooting by Officer Is Under Investigation

The shooting death of a 19-year-old man by a Pomona police officer after a foot chase Friday night is being investigated.
When police responded to an 8:30 p.m. call at 11th and Palomares streets, a man holding a gun ran from the scene. He then turned and pointed the gun and was shot by an officer, officials said.
Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene. His name was not released.
Sheriff’s homicide investigators are helping in the investigation.
