Nicole Richie in a spin for DJ

Last Thursday, family and friends celebrated the engagement of Nicole Richie and Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein at the Beverly Hills home of Lionel Richie, who offered a toast to his daughter’s pending nuptials. Among the revelers -- who were asked to leave their Blackberrys at the door at this private shindig -- were Misha Barton, Brandon Davis, Brent Bolthouse, Lindsay Lohan, No Doubt guitarist Tom Dumont and Mark McGrath. The evening’s highlight was a “scratch-off” between DJ AM, Beastie Boys DJ Mixmaster Mike and Sugar Ray’s Craig “DJ Homicide” Bullock, who ribbed the host for not stocking Hennessey. For shizzle.

Club Bootie heads south

San Francisco’s Club Bootie is heading to L.A. on July 30, for a night at the Echo in Echo Park. Club Bootie, billed as America’s first all mash-up dance club, is teaming with DJ Paul V (Dragstrip 66/Indie 103.1 FM) & DJ Party Ben (who created last year’s Green Day-Oasis mash) for the one-time event, which will feature everyone’s favorite pop gods mixed, mashed, bootlegged and bastardized. Think White Stripes versus Kraftwerk.... The debut of Metal Skool at the Key Club on Monday brought out such party people as Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale, Fred Durst and guitarist Tom Morello. Music fans also caught a performance by Perry Farrell’s new band, Satellite Party, featuring Nuno Bettencourt on guitar and No Doubt’s Tony Kanal on bass. And Metal Skool takes its shtick to Redondo Beach tomorrow for a headlining gig at Latitudes nightclub.... Beginning Monday, Bolthouse Productions and Pantera Sarah are moving their popular Monday night club promotion from Chi at the Hyatt over to Santa Monica Boulevard’s I Candy nightclub (formerly Belly).

Steakhouse finally dislodged

After a year and a half of wrangling with the city of Beverly Hills, the Lodge Steakhouse and lounge on La Cienega (at Wilshire) finally opens its doors this week. The Dodd Mitchell-designed cabin-to-the-stars is owned by Adolfo Suaya, Michael Sutton and the Dolce Group.... Friday night, the ladies and gents of Harlottique kick off a four-week run at Platinum Live Supper Club. The burlesque troupe is transforming the Studio City nightclub into a 1920s-era speak-easy, with backroom gaming and front-room bumping and grinding. Ouch....

The Street Dogs let it rip at the Troubadour last Wednesday, as singer Mike McColgan served up some blue-collar anthemic Irish punk. Of his recent move to the City of Angels (for a lass, no less), McColgan says: “L.A. has no pretensions about itself. It’s grandiose, but it’s also filled with middle-class people working hard.” You can catch the Street Dogs putting in some work at the Knitting Factory on Sunday.
