Ericka Johansson and Adam Waskewics
But in 2007, Johansson and Waskewics immediately noticed each other while playing on opposing kickball teams. A couple of weeks passed before Waskewics nervously asked her out, never suspecting Johansson had already pointed him out to a friend as “the man I’m going to marry.”
Waskewics, 33, sells real-estate investment software for Yardi Systems and is a champion sports fisherman. Johansson, 34, owns medical-tubing manufacturing company Microtubes and likes to paint and sculpt. On their first date, Waskewics took Johansson to dinner and an art exhibit.
The couple married March 5 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Santa Barbara. The bride wore a strapless gown of ivory silk organza from Watters Brides. Best man Chris Gault placed a candle on the altar in memory of Johansson’s mother, Judy Johansson, who died in 2009. The wedding ring was made from a band the bride’s mother had given her.
The reception was attended by 120 guests and held at the Cabrillo Pavilion Arts Center.— Maxine Nunes, Custom Publishing Writer
