Man struck, killed in downtown L.A. hit-and-run
A man was struck and killed Friday evening while crossing a downtown Los Angeles street, authorities said.
The unidentified man was crossing near 4th and Alameda streets when he was hit by a white van about 8:30 p.m., Los Angeles Police Officer Diana Figueroa said. It was unclear if he was in a crosswalk.
The driver of the van fled the scene after hitting the man, Figueroa said, but police had a suspect in custody by 10 p.m.
No other information was immediately available.
