The jailed husband of self-proclaimed, and so far unsubstantiated, serial killer Miranda Barbour -- who claims to have killed in L.A. -- said in a telephone interview from prison this week that “I still love her.”

Elytte Barbour, 22, also agreed during the interview with CNN that “everyone wants to know about her credibility,” though he declined to say if his wife’s confessions were valid.

The two Barbours have been charged with stabbing and strangling Troy LaFerrara, 42, after meeting with him Nov. 11, 2013, through a Craigslist ad in which Miranda Barbour reportedly offered LaFerrara companionship in exchange for money.

Elytte and Miranda Barbour married just three weeks before LaFerrara died, officials said. Both were arrested in December.

Since then, Miranda Barbour has claimed responsibility for more than 20 other murders, including one in Los Angeles, and sparked national attention. The 19-year-old reportedly made the claims to a Pennsylvania newspaper and said she killed as part of a satanic cult.

While authorities are investigating her claims, Miranda Barbour is finding it increasingly difficult to find believers.

Sonny Dean, Miranda Barbour’s father, recently told the Daily Item of Sunbury, Pa., that if his daughter is convicted of murder and sentenced to death, he will watch her execution while holding the hand of the widow she allegedly made in killing LaFerrara.

Dean said Miranda Barbour is “the most manipulative person I have ever known” but is not a serial killer. He said that after she became hooked on heroin, Miranda Barbour spent much of her life in and out of treatment.
