UFC champion Jon Jones arrested on suspicion of DUI
Jon Jones, the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s light-heavyweight champion, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence early Saturday morning in New York, his agent confirmed.
Jones last defended his belt in April, defeating former training partner and ex-UFC light-heavyweight champion Rashad Evans in Atlanta.
UFC President Dana White said he was waiting for more details before releasing a statement on the matter.
Jones is scheduled to next fight Temecula’s Dan Henderson.
“We are asking for fans and media to respect the privacy of Jon and his family during this time,” a statement from Jones’ agency said.
