National signing day: Receiver Austin Roberts chooses UCLA
Austin Roberts, a wide receiver from Carmel (Ind.) High, became the first high school player to sign a letter of intent with UCLA, with the announcement coming at 4 a.m.
Roberts was one of the most pursued receivers in the nation. The list of schools after him reads like a top-10 poll, including Alabama, Ohio State, Florida, Florida State and USC. He is ranked 177thon the ESPN top 300 high school players list.
Roberts will give UCLA quarterbacks a big target to throw at. He is 6-foot-2 and 210 pounds.
