Guard/Forward Mickael Pietrus signed with the Toronto Raptors on Friday.

Pietrus was recently linked to the Lakers by Yahoo! Sports but is now officially off the market.

Formerly with the Orlando Magic (with Dwight Howard) and the Phoenix Suns (Steve Nash), Pietrus is skilled as both a defender and three-point shooter. The Raptors fill a void created by injuries to Landry Fields and Alan Anderson.

The Lakers don’t seem close to making a roster move, instead choosing to wait for both Steve Blake (abdominal strain) and Nash (leg) to return from their own injuries in the coming weeks.

The team has been linked to Raja Bell and Derek Fisher, although Fisher just signed with the Dallas Mavericks.

Should the Lakers decide to add to the roster, they’d first have to open up a spot. The team currently has the maximum of 15 but the contracts of Robert Sacre and Darius Johnson-Odom, both currently assigned to the D-Fenders, are not fully guaranteed.
