San Jose Sharks honor dying teenager by signing him to one-day deal

SAN JOSE -- The Ducks will play Thursday night at the hostile arena of their heated Pacific Division rival, the San Jose Sharks.
Who will win takes a lead in the division with less than a month remaining in the season, so the game matters immensely.
On Tuesday, the Sharks took a moment to honor a more important battle, 18-year-old Sam Tageson’s ordeal with a heart condition described as terminal.
In the accompanying video, the Sharks welcome Tageson into their locker room, mingle with him and let him become the first non-Sharks player to skate through the SAP Center Shark’s head on ice at introductions.
There were few dry eyes both in the arena among the Sharks, thanks to the classy gesture.
