Eat Pink around town for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and restaurants around town are offering food and drink specials to help spread the word and raise funds for the cause. Here are some of the specials. If you know of something we’ve missed, please let us know in the comments section below:

The California Pizza Kitchen in Pasadena has teamed up with the city’s Fire Department for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. For every guest who visits the restaurant on Oct. 11 and brings in a special Fire Department flier (available for download in the photo section at www.facebook.com/pasadena.pink ) the restaurant will donate 20% of the guest’s check to the Pasadena Huntington-Hill Breast Cancer Center. Firefighters will be on hand in pink shirts to serve and greet guests from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Guests can also purchase the pink shirts, with proceeds going to the Huntington-Hill Breast Cancer Center. 99 N. The Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills is offering a Pink Afternoon Tea for the month of October. The tea includes strawberries and whipped cream, a savory caviar cake and an assortment of sandwiches, scones and rose colored pastries. Guests can choose from more than 20 types of tea and a glass of Nicolas Feuillatte Brut Rosé Champagne, a traditional Peninsula Page “Cap Cake” gift to take home and a $50 Trina Turk promotional card to use at any Trina Turk boutique. Executive Chef Dakota Weiss at the Ninethirty restaurant at the W Hotel in Westwood has created a special pink dessert to be served throughout October. The Pink Tahitian profiteroles are served with Drunken Udder pink Tahitian vanilla bean ice cream, strawberry pink peppercorn caramel and lemon-basil icing. WP24 Lounge at The Ritz-Carlton in downtown Los Angeles is offering guests a special pink cocktail. The Pink Pomini, made with Prosecco, pink grapefruit juice and pomegranate will be available throughout October for $14. Proceeds will benefit Living Beyond Breast Cancer. 900 W. Lexington Social House has introduced a Sweet Lips cocktail for October. The cocktail is made with watermelon, St. Germain and Champagne.
