‘Hey Bartender,’ the movie: The cocktail documentary “Hey Bartender” opens Friday for its weeklong run at Sundance Sunset Cinemas. The film is an ode to mixology and follows a former Marine bartender shaking his way toward stardom at New York’s Employees Only, and an ex-banker working to turn around the neighborhood bar he’s owned for 18 years. The cast also features Julie Reiner of Clover Club, Sasha Petraske of Milk & Honey and Dale DeGroff, a.k.a. King Cocktail, with commentary from an insider milieu including Graydon Carter and Danny Meyer. 8000 West Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles

Barnsdall summer wine tasting: Sunset wine tastings at Barnsdall Art Park continue through the summer, and the next tasting is Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the gated gardens of the historic Hollyhock House. Silverlake Wine is presenting four wine picks -- boutique, small-production, artisan, what have you. The cost is $25 per person and includes a limited edition wine glass. Bring a picnic, or partake in the Buy tickets (no longer available at the door) online at www.barnsdall.org. (Tickets for children over 3-years-old are $5.) All profits from the wine tastings benefit Barnsdall Art Park Foundation programs and projects. 4800 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles

Ceviche Project: The Ceviche Project is popping up at the Writer’s Room for two evenings of ceviche and cocktails on June 19. Two seatings will feature the drinks of mixologist Daniel Nelson with four courses of seafood creations from Ceviche Project founder Octavio Olivas, along with “special treats” from the kitchen of Supperclub LA. Tickets are available online for 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. seatings. 6675 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood
