Third baseman Justin Turner and closer Kenley Jansen declined one-year, $17.2-million qualifying offers from the Dodgers on Monday, as expected. They are expected to land multi-year deals in Los Angeles or elsewhere for at least three times as much money.

Jansen had a 1.89 ERA with a career-high 47 saves this season when he was a first-time All-Star. He earned $10.65 million. The closer has spent his entire seven-year career with Los Angeles.

Turner hit .275 with 27 home runs and 90 RBIs in a career-best 151 games for the NL West champions. The third baseman, who turns 32 on Nov. 23, had a $5.1 million salary this season.

The Dodgers say they remain interested in signing each player, but they would secure an extra draft pick if either signs with another club and two extra picks if both sign elsewhere.

Etc.

Among players eligible for the qualifying offers, only second baseman Neil Walker of the New York Mets and pitcher Jeremy Hellickson of the Philadelphia Phillies accepted them, giving up free agency to stay with their teams.

Also rejecting qualifying offers were: outfielders Jose Bautista of the Toronto Blue Jays, Yoenis Cespedes of the Mets, Ian Desmond of the Texas Rangers, Dexter Fowler of the Chicago Cubs and Mark Trumbo of the Baltimore Orioles; and designated hitter Edwin Encarnacion of the Blue Jays.
