NFC notes: Panthers can clinch first-round playoff bye with win over Falcons

Arizona: The Cardinals clinched a playoff berth Thursday night with a win over the Vikings that also gave Arizona consecutive seasons with at least 11 victories.

Atlanta: No Falcons defensive player has more than two sacks. Rookie tackle Grady Jarrett had his first career sack last week against the Buccaneers.

Carolina: The Panthers can clinch a first-round bye in the playoffs with a victory over Atlanta. Carolina has scored at least 27 points in 10 consecutive games.

Chicago: Alshon Jeffery is third in yards receiving per game (98.6). The Bears are 1-5 at home this season and have lost eight of nine going back to last season.

Dallas: Tight end Jason Witten is one game away from becoming the first Cowboy to play in 200 consecutive games. Dallas is 4-10 on the road against the Packers.

Detroit: Theo Riddick leads all running backs with 60 catches, the most for a Lions back through 12 games since 1960. He has 534 yards receiving with three touchdowns.

Green Bay: Linebacker Julius Peppers leads the Packers with seven sacks. Safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix has 34 tackles, a pick and two sacks over the last four games.

Minnesota: Adrian Peterson rushed for his 100th career touchdown Thursday night in a loss to the Cardinals. He finished with 69 yards rushing in 23 carries.

New Orleans: The Saints have won seven of their last eight meetings against Tampa Bay but could be swept in their season series for the first time since 2007.

N.Y. Giants: Giants kicker Josh Brown is 25 for 26 on field-goal tries, second-best in league, but he missed a potential tying field goal in over- time against the Jets.

Philadelphia: Running back Darren Sproles has six touchdowns (four rushing and two punt returns) in his last seven games against AFC opponents.

San Francisco: The visit to Cleveland will provide a homecoming for kicker Phil Dawson, who spent 14 years with the Browns and ranks second on the team’s career scoring list.

Seattle: Quarterback Russell Wilson has 11 touchdown passes and no interceptions in his last three games. Seattle is 16-8 in its last 24 road games.

St. Louis: Defensive end Robert Quinn (back) and safety T.J. McDonald (shoulder) are both out for the season after undergoing season-ending surgeries.

Tampa Bay: Rookie Jameis Winston has 12 touchdown passes with no interceptions in the red zone. He also has led three game-winning drives.

Washington: The Redskins have lost nine road games in a row going back to last season. They are the only team without a win on the road this year.
