Yosemite tragedy: An article in the July 21 Section A about three visitors to Yosemite National Park who plunged over Vernal Fall misspelled the first name of victim Hormiz “Ninos” David as Homiz. The article later said that David went by his first name, Ninos. Ninos was his nickname. It also reported that David’s Facebook page said he was from Baghdad. It was Ninos Yacoub, another victim, whose Facebook page said he was from Baghdad.

Dolly Parton show: In the Weekend Picks in the July 21 Calendar section, the Dolly Parton show at the Hollywood Bowl was listed as taking place Saturday and Sunday. She is performing Friday and Saturday.

Afghanistan command transfer: The caption for a photo with an article in the July 19 LATExtra section about the transfer of the U.S. military command in Afghanistan said the photo of the new commander, Marine Gen. John R. Allen, and his predecessor, Army Gen. David H. Petraeus, was taken during the transfer ceremony. The photo was taken before Allen was elevated to four-star general.

‘Carmageddon’: An article in the July 19 Section A about driving conditions during the 405 shutdown said drivers heading west on the 101 Freeway in Encino cut their driving time into downtown. It should have said the drivers were heading east. The 101 Freeway is a north-south freeway, but the portion through the San Fernando Valley that is the Ventura Freeway runs east and west.

KCSN history: An article on Cal State Northridge radio station KCSN-FM (88.5) in the July 11 Calendar section said the station went on the air in 1949. It began broadcasting in 1963, as KEDC-FM, and the call letters were changed to KCSN in 1973.
