Spurs beat Jazz for 11th victory in a row

Tony Parker scored 23 points and Matt Bonner hit five three-point shots and the San Antonio Spurs defeated the Utah Jazz, 106-102, Monday night in Salt Lake City for their 11th consecutive victory.

Richard Jefferson’s three-pointer with 6.5 seconds left sealed the victory for the Spurs, who have not lost on the road since Jan. 29 in Dallas. San Antonio is 7-0 on a nine-game trip.

Al Jefferson had 20 points and Paul Millsap 16 for Utah, which fell below .500 for the first time since Jan. 2.

The Spurs kept the NBA’s longest win streak alive despite injuries to Manu Ginobili and Tiago Splitter, both expected to miss two weeks.

San Antonio trailed by as many as eight points in the first half and 10 in the third quarter.

Tim Duncan added 20 points for San Antonio.

Al Jefferson had a chance to tie the score at 102 with 29 seconds left but missed a 16-footer, and Richard Jefferson countered with his three-pointer.

New Jersey 100, at New York 92: Deron Williams scored a season-high 38 points, outplaying Jeremy Lin and leading the Nets past the Knicks. Lin finished with 21 points, nine assists and seven rebounds, but Williams outscored him 36-11 through three quarters, when the Nets led by 18. Carmelo Anthony, returning from a seven-game absence because of a strained right groin, made four of 11 shots and scored 11 points for New York.

at Chicago 90, Atlanta 79: Derrick Rose scored 23 points in his return from back pain, and the Bulls played more like championship contenders after a brutal loss to New Jersey two days earlier. Rose, who missed the previous five games, also had six assists and five rebounds.

at Dallas 89, Boston 73: Dirk Nowitzki had 26 points and moved into the top 20 on the NBA career scoring list and the Mavericks never trailed. The Celtics played without Rajon Rondo (suspended for two games by the NBA for throwing a ball at an official Sunday), Kevin Garnett (personal reasons) and Brandon Bass (knee). Boston has lost four in a row and six of seven.

at Oklahoma City 101, New Orleans 93: Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook scored 31 points apiece and the Thunder won its 10th in a row at home. Jarrett Jack scored 18 points for the Hornets, who trailed, 68-42, midway through the third quarter.

Orlando 93, at Milwaukee 90: Dwight Howard had 28 points and 16 rebounds, Jameer Nelson added 15 points and the Magic beat the Bucks for the third time in 10 days. Brandon Jennings had 22 points for Milwaukee.

at Houston 97, Memphis 93: Kyle Lowry scored 24 points, Kevin Martin added 22 and Courtney Lee hit four key free throws down the stretch for the Rockets. Rudy Gay led the Grizzlies with 23 points.

at Phoenix 104, Washington 88: Marcin Gortat scored 20 points, Steve Nash had 12 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds in three quarters, and the Suns beat the Wizards for the 10th consecutive time.

at Denver 103, Minnesota 101 (OT): Arron Afflalo hit a tiebreaking shot in the lane with 33.7 seconds remaining in overtime and reserve Al Harrington scored a season-high 31 points for the Nuggets, who beat the Timberwolves for the 17th time in 18 games. Kevin Love had 22 points and 13 rebounds for Minnesota.
