Update: UCLA has beaten USC twice — 66-47 in January and 64-54 last month. The question is whether UCLA can get through this round of the Pacific Life Pac-12 tournament with minimal stress. The Bruins’ only chance of getting to the NCAA tournament is to win four games in four days to earn the Pac-12 Conference’s automatic bid. Otherwise, the Bruins are merely polishing their record for the NIT committee. UCLA guards Jerime Anderson and Lazeric Jones have logged significant minutes this season, and center Joshua Smith has struggled with physical conditioning all season. An easy victory against the Trojans could buy them some rest. USC has lost nine straight games, but a victory here makes the season for the injury-riddled Trojans.
