Football: Darius Jones leads Canoga Park past Taft

Stability is one of the key requirements to succeed in the City Section, and Canoga Park is lucky Ivan Moreno has been hanging around as head coach.

The Hunters served noticed on Thursday night that they're going to be a contender in the Valley Mission League with a 20-10 victory over Taft.

Darius Jones rushed for 200 yards in 23 carries and also had a 90-yard kickoff return.

Oscar Gonzalez kicked field goals of 36 and 47 yards.

San Fernando had its 18-game winning streak come to an end in a 42-14 loss to Sierra Canyon. Niko Harris passed for 235 yards and two touchdowns.

Narbonne, down, 14-0, defeated Palos Verdes, 49-28. Sean Riley rushed for 124 yards. Roman Ale completed 23 of 29 passes for 296 yards and four touchdowns and ran for a touchdown.

Hawkins defeated View Park, 21-14. Floyd Anderson had two sacks.

Sam Hernandez passed for 165 yards in Roosevelt's 31-13 win over Fairfax. He ran for two TDs and passed for another.
