Football: Scott Altenberg tries to explain to his kids why he’s home
Gardena Serra Coach Scott Altenberg is the father of two kids, ages 6 and 10, and he’s had to explain to them why he’s suddenly home after school. After all, he’s always been busy with the playoffs this time of the year. But Serra got moved to the Pac-5 Division, and last week, the Cavaliers were eliminated in the first round by Corona Centennial, 68-64.
“What’s going on, Dad?” is the question being asked.
“They’re not understanding there’s no more football,” Altenberg said. “They’re going to see me all day on Thanksgiving for the first time.”
