Football: Sterling Salguero is West Valley League player of the year
Standout running back Sterling Salguero of Birmingham has been selected the West Valley League player of the year.
The co-offensive MVPs were quarterback Chris Duncan of Taft, quarterback Tyger Goslin of Chatsworth and running back Ladell Atkins of El Camino Real. Goslin and Atkins are juniors. The offensive lineman of the year was Michael Sandoval of Chatsworth.
The defensive MVP was linebacker Eric Flowers of Birmingham. The defensive lineman of the year was Anthony Winn of Taft.
