Loyola High Coach Jamal Adams isn’t just producing successful basketball teams. He’s sending off players to excel in college on and off the court.

As of last month, at least 15 former Cubs were set to suit up for college basketball teams.

The most successful player has been Brendan Boken, a two-time all-conference player at the University of Scranton. He graduated from Loyola in 2012.

But watch out for 2014 grad Thomas Welsh of UCLA. He had a great summer and is expected to make an impact in his sophomore season.

The list of former Loyola players on rosters:

Ryan Oliver, Siena College; Brendan Boken, Scranton; Khaliq Ghani, Yale; Jacob Hazzard, Arizona; Tochi Oti, Whitman College; Julian Harrell, Eastern Washington; Andrew Johnson, Occidental; Trey Mason, Arizona; Khalil Bedart-Ghani, San Diego; Parker Jackson-Cartwright, Arizona; Matt Jasaitis, Grinnell College; Thomas Lapham, Tufts; Thomas Welsh, UCLA; Stone Gettings, Cornell; Max Hazzard, UC Irvine.

Welsh’s younger brother, Henry, is close to making his college decision.

“We’ve been blessed,” Adams said.
