Angels 14, White Sox 14

AT THE PLATE: Mike Trout hit a home run, and Albert Pujols doubled twice. Trout is batting .378 in the Cactus League and leads the team with three home runs and 12 runs batted in. The Angels had 18 hits, including three from Howie Kendrick, who is batting .441. He hit .435 last spring. Kendrick also stole two bases.

ON THE MOUND: Tyler Skaggs, pitching with what he called “no command of any of my pitches,” staggered through 41/3 innings, giving up five runs, seven hits and three walks . Skaggs, who has little apparent competition for the fifth spot in the rotation, has an earned-run average of 6.14. Michael Kohn, a mainstay of the bullpen last year, is in danger of not making the team. He gave up three runs in two-thirds of an inning; his ERA is 8.31.

EXTRA BASES: Trout was hit by a pitch for the second time this spring — and, for the second time, he stole second base immediately thereafter. … Rule 5 pick Brian Moran has not pitched for a week because of elbow soreness. If he has to go on the disabled list, the Angels have considered whether to open the season with no left-handers in their bullpen. … Angels minor league pitcher Luis Pena, 18, was suspended 50 games after testing positive for steroids.
