Ryan Braun is put on 15-day DL by Milwaukee Brewers

Outfielder Ryan Braun was put on the 15-day disabled list by the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday because of a strained oblique in his right side.

Braun had sat out the last six games because of the injury. The DL move is retroactive to April 27.

Braun is batting .318 with six home runs and 18 runs batted in.

Blue Jays’ Brandon Morrow injures finger

Pitcher Brandon Morrow was put on the 15-day DL by the Toronto Blue Jays because of what Manager John Gibbons described as a strained right index finger.

Morrow was injured in the final inning of his outing Friday against the Pittsburgh Pirates. He finished the inning and told the training staff of the injury when he returned to the dugout.

Morrow is 1-2 with a 5.93 earned-run average.

Hamstring injury puts White Sox’s Adam Eaton on DL

Outfielder Adam Eaton was put on the 15-day DL by the Chicago White Sox because of a strained right hamstring.

Eaton was injured running to first base while hitting into a double play Friday.

Eaton is batting .276 with 14 RBIs and two stolen bases.

Pirates’ Stolmy Pimentel is out because of shoulder issue

Reliever Stolmy Pimentel was put on the 15-day DL by the Pirates because of right shoulder inflammation.

Pimentel, a 24-year-old rookie, is 2-1 with a 3.18 ERA in six appearances. He last pitched Thursday against Baltimore, giving up a game-ending home run to Matt Wieters in the 10th inning.
