Indians put Carlos Santana on disabled list
The Cleveland Indians put Carlos Santana on the seven-day disabled list because of a concussion and infielder Nick Swisher on the 15-day DL because of a left knee injury on Tuesday.
Cleveland also designated right-hander Blake Wood for assignment to open a spot on the 40-man roster.
To fill the two spots on the 25-man active roster, the Indians selected the contract of catcher George Kottaras and recalled infielder Jesus Aguilar from triple-A Columbus (Ohio).
Marlins put Capps on DL
The Miami Marlins put right-handed reliever Carter Capps on the 15-day DL because of a sprained right elbow and say he’ll be out for at least a month.
The Marlins recalled right-hander Arquimedes Caminero from triple-A New Orleans before Tuesday night’s game at Washington.
Manager Mike Redmond said Capps had some tenderness in the elbow after pitching one inning Sunday in a loss to Milwaukee.
