Washington Nationals right-hander Jordan Zimmerman abruptly left his start against the Philadelphia Phillies in the fourth inning Friday night because of a right biceps injury.

Zimmerman (6-5), scheduled to participate in his second straight All-Star game Tuesday, called the Nationals training staff out after throwing a pitch to Cameron Rupp with one out in the fourth. He showed no obvious discomfort, but left the mound after a short discussion with the training staff and Washington Manager Matt Williams. Zimmermann will be evaluated further on Saturday. He isn't expected to pitch Tuesday, according to Williams.
