Tuesday’s release of the College Football Playoff rankings will not impede our pursuit to generate the most reputable ranking produced in less than an hour every Wednesday afternoon. We have outlasted the 16-year Bowl Championship Series rankings, Harris Interactive Index and Legends of Coaching polls. Rankman promises to be at his post long after committee panelist Condi Rice leaves to become commissioner of the Southeastern Conference. The mission statement of our one-man selection committee remains: to ignore head-to-head if there is a funnier comment to be made about a team that would otherwise not be ranked.
