Lakers' Julius Randle to undergo foot surgery on Tuesday

Lakers rookie Julius Randle, already out for the season with a broken leg, will have surgery on his right foot

Lakers rookie forward Julius Randle will undergo foot surgery on Tuesday.

Randle will have a screw replaced in the fifth metatarsal of his right foot, a remnant from a previous surgery after a high school injury.

The 6-foot-9 power forward from Kentucky is already out for the season after breaking his right leg on opening night in October.

The surgery will be performed at Cedars-Sinai Orthopaedic Center by Dr. David Thordarson.

Randle was drafted by the Lakers with the seventh overall pick in June.

Reports before the draft that Randle would eventually need foot surgery might have helped him fall to the Lakers.

The Lakers said they expect Randle to fully recover from both injuries.
