NBA roundup: Rockets win seventh consecutive game

James Harden had 36 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds to lead the host Houston Rockets past the Brooklyn Nets, 122-118, Monday night for their seventh consecutive victory.

Eric Gordon made six three-point baskets and finished with 24 points, and Ryan Anderson had 19 points for the Rockets. Houston made 17 three-pointers and have made 10 or more in an NBA-record 24 consecutive games.

Brook Lopez scored 26 points and Sean Kilpatrick had 17 for the Nets.

Brooklyn trailed for much of the game until Joe Harris tied it, 118-118, with a layup with less than 40 seconds remaining.

Gordon gave Houston a two-point lead with a free throw with 11.9 seconds left, and the Rockets came up with a steal on the ensuing inbound pass. Gordon then made two free throws and the Rockets held on.

at Indiana 110, Charlotte 94: Paul George and Myles Turner each scored 22 points to lead the Pacers, who went on an 11-1 run between the third and fourth quarters to take control. Marco Belinelli scored 14 points for the Hornets, who trailed 45-43 after the first half despite shooting only 30.8% from the field. They finished shooting 33.3%.

at Toronto 122, Milwaukee 100: DeMar DeRozan scored 30 points, Terrence Ross had 25 and the Raptors beat the Bucks for the sixth consecutive time and for the 12th time in their last 13 meetings. Giannis Antetokounmpo had a team-high 30 points and Jabari Parker had 27 for the Bucks, who lost their third game in a row.

at Miami 112, Washington 101: Goran Dragic scored a season-high 34 points, Hassan Whiteside had 17 points and 16 rebounds, and the Heat ended a losing streak at five games. Miami won for only the third time in 11 games at home. John Wall scored 30 points and Bradley Beal had 29 for the Wizards, who are 0-2 against the Heat this season.

at Dallas 112, Denver 92: Wesley Matthews scored 25 points and Harrison Barnes had 18 points for the Mavericks, who led by 28 points in the third quarter on the way to winning consecutive home games for the first time in an injury-plagued season. The NBA’s worst-shooting team coming in at 41.5%, the Mavericks shot 65% in the first half and a season-high 58% overall.
