Landon Donovan had an assist and the Galaxy rallied to tie host Montreal, 2-2, Wednesday night.

It was the 132nd assist for Donovan, putting him three away from Steve Ralston’s Major League Soccer all-time record.

The Impact, which is in last place in the Eastern Conference, took a 1-0 lead in the 28th minute on a goal by Marco Di Vaio, his sixth this season.

Montreal added to the lead when Ignacio Piatti scored in the 43rd minute.

The Galaxy, the second-place team in the Western Conference, scored in the 59th minute on a tap-in by Gyasi Zardes and tied the score three minutes later on a goal by Alan Gordon off a cross by Robbie Keane.

Donovan received a yellow card and will sit out the California Clasico this weekend in San Jose because of an accumulation of cards.
