It could just be wishful thinking for the newly-named cover boy for the upcoming Madden 17, but that still doesn’t stop Rob Gronkowski from sharing his mind.

The Patriots tight end does not think teammate Tom Brady’s suspension for his alleged involvement in Deflategate will cause him to miss any games in the 2016 season, he said on ESPN’s SportsCenter on Thursday.

The situation came as a surprise for Gronkowski.

“I was actually surprised. It was a surprise to everyone,” Gronkowski said, according to NFL.com. “I thought it was totally done and it was crazy to see it happen again. It’s kind of getting stupid to the point where it’s at now. Why it’s still going on now... I think he’s going to play 16 games again. That’s the way it’s been going on, that’s the way it’s worked, so hopefully that’s true.”

Gronkowski isn’t a legal expert, but does have a point about how long the drama of Deflategate has been going on.

Brady’s four-game suspension was overturned before the beginning of last season, but was reinstated last month. He has until May 23 to decide if he wants to appeal the reinstatement of the suspension.
