Running back Rushel Shell, who is looking to transfer from Pittsburgh, is visiting UCLA this week, according to a person close to the situation who was not authorized to speak on the matter.

Shell was considered one of the top running backs in the nation at Aliquippa (Pa.) Hopewell High School in 2012. He gained 9,078 yards during his high school career.

Shell gained 641 yards as a freshman at Pitt last season. He requested to transfer and asked to be released to UCLA, California, Arizona and Arizona State. Pittsburgh officials blocked any transfer to Arizona and Arizona State, where former Pittsburgh Coach Todd Graham is coach.

He will have to sit out a year after transferring, but will have three years of eligibility remaining.
