Last year, while coaching at Washington, Sarkisian registered "Coach Sark" and "Bark for Sark."
Sarkisian laughed on Wednesday when asked why he filed to register his name as a trademark, saying his agent would know the answer.
"I'm just trying to get first downs," he said, smiling.
"I probably don't want people using my name in vain, so I got to take care of myself."
