The Times will be there to track The Opening, a showcase for 166 elite high school prospects invited to participate this week at the Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Ore.

The five-day event includes a quarterback competition, combine, seven-on-seven tournament and lineman challenge. Players were invited based on performances at Nike Football regional camps.

Five of the players participating have committed to USC’s 2016 recruiting class and two have committed to UCLA. Nearly 20 of the participants are from Southland high schools.

Video highlights, interviews and recruiting updates on USC and UCLA prospects will also be published on the USC and UCLA Now blogs.

See you next time from The Opening.
