Key Griffins: Jr. RB Keanu Norman; Sr. LB Issaiah Johnson; Sr. QB Grant Caraway

Breakdown: Edison plays host to Los Alamitos in a first-place showdown in the Sunset League, and the winner will be in the driver seat to win the title … Chargers (5-2, 2-0 in league), the league champions the past two years, are riding a 12-game winning streak in league … Griffins (4-3, 2-0) are the last team in league to hand the Chargers a loss, coming on Nov. 6, 2014 … Edison has outscored its first two league opponents 111-0, and Los Alamitos has topped that, winning its games 113-0 … Chargers, ranked No. 5 in the CIF Southern Section Division 2 poll, and the Griffins have ruled the league the previous eight seasons, with Edison finishing first six times and Los Alamitos twice … Edison defeated the Griffins 17-9 in last year’s game … Los Alamitos coach Ray Fenton said he expects another close game with the Chargers … Edison has never lost in league to Fenton, who coached at Fountain Valley from 2013-15.

Breakdown: The Sea Kings (6-1, 2-0 in league) are going for their 28th straight Pacific Coast League win when they clash with visiting Northwood (1-6, 0-2) … CdM, ranked No. 5 in CIF Southern Section Division 4, appears on its way to its sixth straight outright league title before joining the Sunset League next year … Northwood has been outscored by a combined 62-15 in two league losses against University and Woodbridge … CdM is coming off a 42-3 win at University last week, and coach Dan O’Shea used four quarterbacks for the second straight league game … The Timberwolves’ first-year head coach is Pete Mitchell, a former assistant at Marina and Huntington Beach who coached at Bakersfield High from 2005-2011.

LOS AMIGOS VS. BOLSA GRANDE

Where/When: Thursday, 7 p.m. at Bolsa Grande High

Key Lobos: Jr. OL-LB Andrew Contreras (54 tackles); Sr. TE-LB Saul Robles (48 tackles and one blocked field goal); So. RB-DB Joseph Garcia (44 tackles, 10 sacks, and one fumble recovery)

Key Matadors: Sr. QB Andrew Guillen; Sr. RB-OLB Elian Gallegos; Jr. FB-LB Daniel Alvarez

Breakdown: There is not much more than pride to play for at this point for either team, but avoiding the cellar in the Garden Grove League should be the motivation in this one … A young Los Amigos team has struggled mightily to put points on the board. The Lobos (1-6, 0-2 in league) have been outscored 104-7 through their first two league games … Bolsa Grande (1-6, 0-2) has improved offensively. In 2016, the Matadors averaged 11.6 points per game. Bolsa Grande is one point shy of its total from last year, and it hopes to snap a 16-game losing streak in league … Los Amigos won last year’s matchup 45-7.
