TV series review: 'Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp' feels like we never left

Like the movie before it, “Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp” is the comedy we didn’t know we needed. Which reminds me, before reading this review and watching the Netflix series, I highly recommend watching the 2001 movie. Mostly because it’s hilarious but also because although this eight-episode miniseries is a prequel, it’s clearly made for fans of the original movie. Which is probably why I found this series so amusing: it perfectly recaptured the feel of its predecessor and improved on everything the movie has been praised for these past 15 years.
