Ed Orgeron tried to be Pete Carroll. When he left USC to become Mississippi's head coach in 2005, Orgeron said he attempted "to do everything we did here with Coach Carroll." It did not go as planned. "Some of them worked and some of them did not," said Orgeron, who compiled a 10-25 record. "I thought about it long and hard, waiting for my shot again.
