BALTIMORE —
Steve Zungul had seven assists, a Major Indoor Soccer League playoff record, and scored a goal to lead the San Diego Sockers to a 14-2 victory over the Baltimore Blast Saturday. The win gave San Diego a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven championship series.
The rout, which set a playoff record for the largest margin of victory, was the Sockers’ first ever in the Baltimore Civic Center, snapping a seven-game losing streak.
Baltimore, Wichita and the defunct New York Arrows held the previous record, nine goals, for the largest margin of victory.
