The Lazers announced the signing of free-agent midfielder Chico Borja, leading scorer last season for the Wichita Wings.

Borja, a three-year Major Indoor Soccer League veteran, had 51 goals and 36 assists for 87 points in 37 games.

Borja, 5 feet 11 inches and 168 pounds, is a native of Ecuador but holds U.S. citizenship and played for the United States in the 1984 Olympic Games.
