NFL PLAYOFFS AT A GLANCE
Team-by-team look at playoff possibilities for each contender:
AMERICAN CONFERENCE West Division
Denver has clinched a playoff berth and can win the division title with a victory over San Diego or a Seattle loss to Kansas City. Broncos will have home field throughout the playoffs if they win division.
Seattle can make the playoffs with a victory over Kansas City and the Seahawks win the division title if they win and Denver loses to San Diego.
San Diego can win a wild-card spot if it beats Denver and Miami, Houston and Pittsburgh lose.
East Division
Indianapolis can win division title by defeating Tampa Bay Sunday.
Miami can win division title by defeating New England next Monday night if Indianapolis loses to Tampa Bay.
New England can win division title by defeating Miami next Monday night if Indianapolis loses.
Central Division
Cleveland has clinched a playoff spot and can win division title with a victory or tie against Pittsburgh Saturday. Browns will play host to a divisional playoff game if they win division and can gain home field throughout the playoffs if they win and Denver loses to San Diego Sunday.
Houston can clinch a wild-card spot with a victory over Cincinnati Sunday and Oilers will take the division if they win and Pittsburgh defeats Cleveland.
Pittsburgh can win a wild-card spot with a victory over Cleveland if Houston and Miami lose.
NATIONAL CONFERENCE
West Division
San Francisco has clinched playoff berth and can win division title by defeating the Rams Sunday or if New Orleans loses to Green Bay. If the 49ers win division, they will have home field throughout playoffs.
New Orleans has clinched playoff berth and can win division with a victory over Green Bay and a San Francisco loss to the Rams.
East Division
Washington has clinched division title and Redskins will be home team in divisional playoff Jan. 9 or 10 if they defeat Minnesota Saturday and Chicago loses to the Raiders Sunday.
St. Louis can be wild card by defeating Dallas Sunday if Minnesota loses to Washington Saturday. Central Division
Chicago has clinched division title and Bears will be home team in divisional playoff Jan. 9 or 10 if they win or Washington loses.
Minnesota will be wild card with a victory over Washington or a St. Louis loss to Dallas.
