RAD--Rock Against Drugs--will distribute new anti-drug commercials featuring David Crosby, Siedah Garrett, Ted Nugent and Wendy and Lisa (formerly of Prince’s Revolution) this month to MTV and other national broadcasting outlets, RAD president Danny Goldberg said this week. The rock manager said California Attorney General John Van De Kamp had contracted with RAD for the spots, which have been financed in part by MTV. The rock-music cable-TV channel has donated more than $4 million to the organization. Describing the 30-second spots, Goldberg said: “Crosby tells his own poignant story, Garrett does an original rap; we caught Nugent back stage, and Wendy and Lisa used a ‘60s style . . . we should reach the full spectrum of our target audience.”
