About 300,000 World Cup Tickets Sold

Six of the nine 1994 World Cup venues have sold out early round tickets allocated for the public sale, which began during the weekend.

About 300,000 tickets were sold.

Tickets for the first- and second-round games at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, which went on sale Sunday, were sold out by Monday.

Other venues that sold out Monday are Foxboro, Mass., Orlando, Fla., and East Rutherford, N.J. Tickets in Chicago and Washington sold out in four hours on Saturday.

World Cup officials said that individual game tickets, if available, will go on sale sometime next year.

Tickets for the later-round games, including the final at the Rose Bowl, will go on sale later this year.
