In Repeat Performance, Utah Defeats BYU Again by the Same Score, 34-31
Mike McCoy flipped a swing pass to Charlie Brown, who ran for a 20-yard touchdown with 56 seconds remaining, giving Utah a 34-31 victory over Brigham Young on Saturday at Salt Lake City.
Utah defeated BYU by the same score in Provo last year.
McCoy finished with four touchdowns passes, two of them to Deron Claiborne, while connecting on 18 of 29 passes for 247 yards.
Brown had 107 yards rushing--his fourth consecutive game of 100 yards or more on the ground.
Utah is 9-2 overall and 6-2 in the Western Athletic Conference. The Cougars finished the regular season 9-3 and 6-2.
The loss ruined a stellar day for BYU quarterback John Walsh, who connected on 29 of 46 passes for 324 yards and four touchdowns, with one interception.
