A car collided with a U.S. postal truck Tuesday afternoon, injuring two people and dumping a heap of mail on the street.

The accident happened about 3:30 p.m. at Bushard Street and Garfield Avenue, causing the postal worker to be ejected, Police Lt. Bruce Kelly said. Johnny Aflleje was taken to Columbia Huntington Beach Hospital and Medical Center with a broken arm and multiple scrapes and bruises, police said.

A teenage passenger in the car also suffered a broken arm and was taken to Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and Medical Center. The driver, whose name was not released because she is a juvenile, complained of pain but was not hospitalized.

“As far as I know, all the mail out there was recovered,” Kelly said.

Neither driver was cited, and the cause of the accident is under investigation.
