Share

The third time wasn’t very charming for Hart High.

The Indians, who won their first Foothill League volleyball title this season, lost to Saugus, 15-12, 15-8, 15-12, in the second round of the Southern Section Division I-A playoffs Thursday night at Hart.

It was the third meeting this season for the league rivals. Hart (16-2) won the first two.

Saugus outside hitter Lauren McCartin, who sprained her left ankle during warmups, recovered nicely with 19 kills.

Cynthia Slankard added 10 kills for the Centurions (11-4), who were second in the Foothill League and will play Thousand Oaks in the quarterfinals Saturday.
