The Canadiens had been 34 for 34 with a man down, the last NHL team this season not to allow a power-play goal, before Bondra struck twice and Trevor Linden once in a four-goal second period. Bondra leads the league with five power-play goals.

Jaromir Jagr, back after missing three games because of a strained knee, scored his second goal of the season on an even-strength breakaway.
