Update -- Despite two scoreless draws in its first two Peace Cup matches, the Galaxy has a shot at playing for the tournament’s $2-million prize in the final against French champ Lyon on Tuesday at Seoul. But the Galaxy needs to score -- and beat -- Dutch champ PSV Eindhoven today and have Nacional of Uruguay lose to 1860 Munich of Germany. “Obviously, we’re disappointed that we haven’t scored goals, but we’re pleased with showing ourselves to be very competitive,” Coach Sigi Schmid said Saturday from South Korea. “I’m not displeased because we’re creating chances and playing against quality clubs.” Help could be on the way should the Galaxy advance as the team may fly in high-scoring forward Carlos Ruiz, whose Guatemala squad was eliminated from the CONCACAF Gold Cup on Thursday. PSV is coached by Guus Hiddink, who led South Korea to the World Cup semifinals last summer before his Dutch club team finished just ahead of Ajax and Feyenoord to win the Netherlands’ Eredivisie. PSV is led by striker Mateja Kezman, who had 35 goals in 33 league matches, and has two South Koreans who played for Hiddink in midfielders Ji-Sung Park and Young-Pyo Lee.
