* New York 3, at Atlanta 0: Oliver Perez pitched seven strong innings, David Wright hit his fourth homer in four games and the Mets increased their lead over the Braves in the National League East to 2 1/2 games.
* Washington 12, at Cincinnati 7: Ryan Church returned to the lineup for the Nationals after sitting out two games and hit two homers and had a career-high six runs batted in.
* at St. Louis 5, Pittsburgh 3: Kip Wells ended a seven-game losing streak with seven strong innings and was backed by three home runs, a rare power display by the Cardinals.
* Philadelphia 8, at Florida 7 (10 innings): Abraham Nunez singled in the tie-breaking run in the 10th at Miami, and the Phillies rebounded after blowing a four-run ninth-inning lead.
* at San Diego 2, Chicago 1: Kevin Kouzmanoff hit a two-run homer and David Wells gave up one run in seven innings to win for the first time since April 24.
* Colorado 2, at Arizona 0: The Rockies’ Jeff Francis gave up five singles in seven innings at Phoenix to improve to 7-1 lifetime against the Diamondbacks and 4-0 at Chase Field.
* at San Francisco 9, Houston 1: Bengie Molina had four RBIs to help Barry Zito bounce back from an awful outing, and the Giants completed a three-game sweep of the Astros.
* at Dodgers 5, Milwaukee 1: Brad Penny threw seven scoreless innings and Russell Martin tied a career high with four RBIs.
