Homicide detectives plan to return to a section of the Angeles National Forest in Altadena on Thursday to investigate human remains found there earlier this week.

The remains were found Wednesday about 12:25 p.m. in the 3900 block of Fair Oaks Avenue, which is the northern part of Altadena within the boundaries of the Angeles National Forest, according to a statement from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Detectives had to abandon their investigation Wednesday due to the tough terrain, darkness and weather concerns. They plan to return Thursday with officials from the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
